Calahonda, Mijas costa
Surroundings.
Calahonda lies in the Municipality of Mijas in the province of Málaga, Andalusia.
Situated midway between the larger coastal towns of Fuengirola to the east, and Marbella to the west, it is only a 25 minute drive along the coast from Malaga airport. Calahonda has been a favourite location for many years for both it´s visitors and permanent residents being self sufficient in all amenities and facilities. It is also connected by a stunning coastal boardwalk stretching 5.5 km along the Mediterranean shores from the village of La Cala to the East and to the pretty marina of Cabopino to the west.
Much of Calahonda was developed and established by 2002. It continued to grow but only on land that was available further inland which now forms upper Calahonda. This makes the project of El Romeral truly unique as it is the first new modern project of this type to be built in many years on land remaining so close to the main central heart and is therefore highly desirable!
El Romeral is ideally located in lower Calahonda with easy access to public transport and perfect for those who prefer to leave the car behind! The beaches too are a stones throw away.

The new boardwalk that runs for a distance of 5.5km is ideal for enjoying anything from an early morning jog to a more meandering stroll into the evening sunset. It is peppered by beachside eateries with their traditional sardines and tasty fresh fish to more lively beach restaurants with live music and entertainment throughout the year.
